Primary Job Responsibilities:
The Technical Product Manager (TPM) bridges business and technology, bringing technology to the table during the ideation and product definition phases of the product development lifecycle. The TPM’s role is to effectively address the needs of the business by specifying product solutions that leverage constrained engineering resources while balancing system scalability, cost, and time to market. The TPM’s unique combination of business and technical knowledge is leveraged to quickly evaluate technical options and to represent business requirements to the technology organization.
Consumer Support (CS) Operations business units, the Global Ops technology team is developing the next-generation customer support tool. The new platform includes integrating third party BPM system with new services that are being built in-house.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as primary product expert
• Lead product design, development and release process for assigned products and maintain the product development road map
• Collaborating with Business units and PMM to understand business goals and customer requirements
• Develops detailed Functional Specifications that meet the business objectives and customer requirements of the PRD (given resource constraints), ensuring security, performance and long term scalability
• Coordinate the collection, description, analysis and prioritization of requests for new product functionality from business unit and technology team
• Ensuring cross-functional product execution (with Project Manager and Engineering Manager), meeting project milestone dates, driving decisions across teams and escalating appropriately
• Collaborating closely with PMM and UED to design product solutions
• Perform product demonstrations for product releases
Job Requirements:
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, and/or Information. MBA strong plus. 5-10 years of product management experience for an enterprise software.
• Strong working knowledge in Pega Systems is required
• Strong technical background. Minimum 5 - 8 years defining and/or developing technical products, or equivalent combination of advanced degree and work experience).
• Domain expertise in customer support tools a strong plus
• Strong business acumen. Exhibits understanding of customer needs and product intuition.
• Ability to determine impact of architectural solutions and recommendations.
• Solid understanding of product development life cycle including knowledge of standard software design and development processes and tools, as well as familiarity with deployment and operations.
• Highly analytical. Ability to think strategically and to develop comprehensive detailed specifications
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) are a must for articulating the business/PMM’s product vision and detailed functional requirements to engineering, as well as architectural requirements and implementation options to the business.
• Highly effective at working in cross-functional groups and getting results in matrix organizations
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• “Can do” attitude, team player, fun, energetic personality, works well under pressure
